Dr.
Uddenfeldt has been with Ericsson since 1978, in
various positions like head of Research in Radio
Systems, Vice President of Global R&D and in
1998, he was appointed Chief Technology Officer
for Ericsson. Since 2004, Dr Uddenfeldt has held
the position as Senior Vice President and Senior
Advisor, Technology to the CEO. In his current
position, he is responsible for Technology
Strategies and chairing Ericsson Research Board
and the Ericsson Standardization Board. He is
also responsible for handling Technology
Alignment with leading operators worldwide.
Hakan Eriksson, CTO & President, Ericsson
Silicon Valley
Mr. Eriksson was appointed Vice
President and General Manager for Research and
Development at Ericsson on April 14, 2003, and
was responsible for development activities
carried out in Ericsson’s Core Network
Development, Radio Network Development and
Service Network and Applications, as well as for
Ericsson Research. Prior to this, Mr. Eriksson
served for five years as head of Ericsson
Research. Mr. Eriksson graduated with a Master
of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, and
in 2005 was awarded an Honorary Ph D, both from
Linköping Institute of Technology, Sweden, in
1985.
Shailesh
Shukla, VP & GM, Mobile Access, Routing and
Services Business Unit, Cisco
Shailesh is Vice President and General Manager
of Cisco’s Mobile Access, Routing and Services
Business Unit, with several product lines
focused on the service provider and enterprise
access and edge including Cisco’s DPI and mobile
backhaul solutions. Prior to joining Cisco,
Shailesh was at Juniper Networks for 3 years and
Redback Networks for 7 years as Vice President
in Marketing, Strategy and Business Development
functions. Prior to his Silicon Valley career,
Shailesh worked in the management consulting
(Mercer, Booz Allen) and the service provider
(Sprint) business. He has a BSEE from BITS
Pilani, India, an MSEE from University of Kansas
and an MBA from MIT Sloan School of Management.
Pouya Taaghol, CTO of Mobile Wireless Group,
Intel
Dr. Pouya Taaghol is the CTO of Intel’s
Mobile Wireless Group overseeing wireless
technology innovation, standardization, and
global ecosystem strategy. Prior to Intel, Pouya
was a founding member and Chief Architect of a
Silicon Valley startup (Azaire Networks). Pouya
also worked in various senior technical
disciplines (research, development, network
architecture, and standardization) at Motorola
and NEC affiliation. Pouya has been an active
member of 3GPP from its inception and has led
development of world’s first 3G systems. Pouya
received his PhD in Mobile and Satellite
Communications from University of Surrey,
England and B.Sc. from Sharif University of
Technology, Iran in 1993 and 1998, respectively.

Willie was former professor of Stanford
University, chief architect of Infineon

Arpit moved to
Ericsson from Redback where he was the VP of
Product Management, Marketing, Standards and
Solutions (CTO/CMO Role), responsible for the
strategic success of Redback’s flagship
SmartEdge router family and its acquisition
through Ericsson. Prior to Redback, Mr.
Joshipura was the Vice President of Portfolio
Management CIENA/ONI focusing on Metro Ethernet
and Optical Architectures. He has also held

Sudhakar Ramakrishna, Corporate VP and GM,
Wireless Broadband Access Solutions and Software
Operations, Motorola Networks
Sudhakar
Ramakrishna is responsible for directing
Motorola’s Wireless Broadband (WiMAX and LTE)
Development and Software Operations teams across
the globe. Sudhakar’s responsibilities include
the design, development, and deployment of 4G
products and solutions for operators worldwide.
Sudhakar’s teams are also responsible for

Bill Payne,
Chief Technology Officer, Motorola Networks
Bill Payne is Vice President of the Wireless
Broadband Systems and Technologies (SAT) team
and Chief Technology Officer of Motorola’s
Networks business. His team is responsible for
systems engineering and technology development
for Motorola Networks’ LTE and WiMAX product
lines. System engineering aspects include the
development of system requirements,
specifications, system architecture documents,
and functional and performance validation.
Technology aspects include algorithm and initial
PHY/MAC implementations of IEEE 802.16e/WiMAX

Derek Kuhn,

Derek Kuhn is Vice President of Emerging

Mohammad Shakouri, Vice

Dr.
Shakouri, corporate vice president, strategy,
for Alvarion, has 22 years of experience in

networks. Previously, during three years at
Lucent, Dr. Shakouri was responsible for
managing, building and developing network
solutions for European and South American

Ramesh Rao, Professor, UCSD
Prof. Rao is
the director of the University of California,
San Diego division of the California Institute
for Telecommunications and Information
Technology (Calit2). In 2004, he was appointed
the first holder the QUALCOMM Endowed Chair in
Telecommunications and Information Technologies
in the department of Electrical and Computer
Engineering of the Jacobs School of Engineering
at UC San Diego, where he has been a faculty
member since 1984.
Kevin Shatzkamer, Chief Architect, Mobile
Networks, Cisco Systems
Kevin Shatzkamer is a
Customer Solutions Architect at Cisco with
responsibility for long-term strategy and
architectural evolution of mobile wireless
networks. He has worked at Cisco and in the
mobile wireless industry for ten years, focusing
on various technologies ranging from GSM/UMTS to
CDMA networks, packet gateway, networkbased
services and security, video distribution,
Quality of Service, and end-to-end design
theory. Kevin has 25 pending patents related to
all areas of work. Kevin holds a bachelor's in
engineering from the University of Florida and a
master's of business administration from Indiana
University.
Jong-kae Fwu, Senior Wireless Architect,
Intel
Dr. Fwu is currently working as a
Senior Wireless Systems Architect of Wireless
Standards at the Mobile Wireless Group in Intel
Corporation. He is a member of the IEEE 802.16
and WiMAX Forum. He presently serves as
vice-chair of IEEE 802.16 Task Group m (TGm), a
task group focusing on defining next generation
WiMAX for mobile internet evolution. He actively
contributes to IEEE 802.16m and the WiMAX Forum
in various areas such as PHY Structure, UL
Control, multicast/broadcast services and
multicarrier operation. He holds several patents
on communication system designs.
Hung Song, VP of Global Marketing, Samsung
Dr. Song is currently responsible for worldwide
marketing and business development of Samsung’s
Mobile WiMAX and Fixed Mobile Convergence
solutions. He joined Samsung Electronics in 2000
and worked in strategic marketing, business
development, and global business management
roles for the fixed and mobile communications
network systems division. Dr. Song has more than
20 years of international management experience
in telecommunications industry and has held a
number of technical and marketing roles in
telecommunications service and communications
companies including U S WEST, Bellcore and AT&T

Michael Manzo, Chief Marketing Officer,

As Chief Marketing Officer,
Michael Manzo oversees all aspects of marketing
and product management. Prior to joining Openet
in July 2006, Michael worked in the Enterprise
Solutions group at Nokia, where he consulted on
M & A integration and marketing of enterprise

executive positions at Traverse Networks
(acquired by Avaya), Omnisky (acquired by

Kay Johansson, CTO, MobiTV
Kay Johansson
serves as the Chief Technology Officer at MobiTV,
Inc. driving the creation, development and
deployment of video and TV technologies on
hundreds of mobile handsets on all major device
platforms. In this capacity, he is responsible
for the strategic direction of the company’s
technology plan and has been instrumental in
scaling MobiTV’s end-to-end video and TV
delivery infrastructure to meet the increasing
consumer demand of entertainment on mobile
handsets and devices.
Jay Pabley, Director Voice/Data Services,
Sprint
Jay has been with Sprint Nextel since
1998, in various roles in Technology
Development, Network Engineering and most
recently in Network Development. He is Director,
Voice and Data Services Development, and is
responsible for all network related development
for Text Messaging, Multimedia Messaging, WAP
services, LBS, E911, Audio and Video services,
Voicemail systems and Call Tones/Ringback Tones.
This responsibility is from concept to field
deployment and is for iDEN, CDMA and WiMax.
Jay Iyer, Distinguished Engineer, Cisco
Systems
Jay Iyer is a distinguished engineer
at Cisco Systems, working in the Mobile Internet
Technology Group. He is currently responsible
for setting Cisco's mobility products technology
strategy. He has over 16 years of experience in
designing and developing products in routing,
switching, wireless and service aggregation. He
holds numerous patents in the area of network
and wireless convergence. Jay holds a Bachelor
of Technology from the Indian Institute of
Technology, Madras, and a Masters from Ohio
State University.
Chris Steck,
Head of Advance Technology, RealLabs of
RealNetworks
Chris Steck is Head of
Advance Technology, for RealNetworks’ RealLabs
where he oversees programs for Strategic
Analysis, Standards & Industry Relations,
Innovation Prototyping, and New Product
Incubation. Chris also served concurrently as
the CTO and a board member of the International
Multimedia Telecommunications Consortium (IMTC).
In the past Chris has architected CTI call
control software for Interactive Voice Response
and worked on networking and communications
protocols and APIs at Microsoft including TAPI,
WinSock II and RSVP.

Jahangir Mohammed, CEO, Jasper Wireless
Jahangir founded Jasper Wireless in 2004 and
serves as the company’s chief executive officer.
Prior to founding Jasper Wireless, Jahangir
founded and served as the CEO of Kineto
Wireless. Kineto pioneered the convergence of
WiFi and Cellular technologies. Kineto’s
technology has become a GSM standard.
Ron Resnick, President and Chair, WiMAX
Forum
Ron is employed by Intel as an
executive member of the Mobile Wireless Group.
In June 2002, Ron launched and became general
manager of Intel’s Broadband Wireless business
startup focused on developing a baseband modem
for last mile broadband access based upon WiMAX
technology. Ron managed technology commercialization efforts
within Intel’s labs and concurrently served as
an Investment Director within Intel's New
Business Initiatives, an internal venture fund
of Intel Capital established to launch and
incubate new business efforts internal to Intel.
Sean Cai, Deputy General Manager of WiMAX

Sean Cai serves as Deputy General
Manager of ZTE WiMAX Product Line. Cai is
responsible for the development of advanced
WiMAX technologies, as well as strategic

development. Cai leads a team in ZTE USA that

various standards, and has been an active

Mark Cudak,
Senior Technologist, Motorola Networks
Mark Cudak is a senior technologist with the
Motorola Networks Wireless Broadband Access
Solutions Business. He manages a research group
working on next generation WiMAX technologies
and has been a member of IEEE 802.16 since 2003.
Mark joined Motorola in 1990 and has been
working on wireless data systems for over a
decade. Mark has made significant contributions
to several wireless data standards including
GRPS, WCDMA, HSPA and IEEE 802.16. Mark holds 37
patents and is a Motorola Dan Noble Fellow.
Masoud Olfat, Senior Manager,

Dr. Olfat
received the M.S. and PhD degrees both in
electrical engineering from University of
Maryland, College Park, and continued
Post-doctoral studies at the same University. He
joined Nextel Communications in 2003, and ever

development of IEEE802.16 standard and mobile
WiMAX technology. He is currently in charge of
Clearwire technical Standard Development, and is

Chandra Tekwani, VP of Mobile Operations,

Chandra Tekwani is a mobile
networking and security thought leader with 19
years of experience securing 2G, 2.5G, 3G and 4G
networks. As VP of mobile operations at
Cloudmark, he’s responsible for leading the
mobile carrier business, product architecture,

Cloudmark, Tekwani founded Core Mobile Networks,
